Lea KaufmannI fell in love with the idea of caring for young children at a very young age. My mother had a daycare in our home since I was a young child and while she ran daycare I was her assistant. I am my mother’s eldest child and I found myself enjoying the role I had as a leader. She later became a nurse and my first supervisor. At the age of 16 I began working as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant (CNA). I have worked with several different departments varying from specialized geriatric care to rehabilitation. After I had my son, I felt the call again to childcare and quit my job in nursing to open a childcare business in my home. I am taking online classes after hours and during the weekends to continue my education in Early Childhood Education and Development. I enjoy my classes, I love being a mother, and I feel blessed with this opportunity to take care of other children.
My husband Matt Kaufmann assists with our walks and park trips at times. He has a current background check registered with the Oregon Childcare Division. |
